Letter carriers nationwide hope to collect food for the needy in
addition to outgoing mail Saturday.
The collection is part of the Stamp out Hunger food drive,
organized by the United States Postal Service and the National Association of
Letter Carriers. People who want to donate are asked to place non-perishable
food items in a bag or box near their mailboxes. Letter carriers will then take
that food to the post office, then on to local charities.
