Election Day: Chance for Change in Mingo County

Many eyes will be on Mingo County Tuesday for the primary election.

There are five additional races on the ballot after a series of corruption cases and a murder left many offices empty.
Political corruption charges forced commissioner David Baisden, prosecuting attorney Michael
Sparks, Circuit Court Judge Michael Thornsbury and Magistrate Dallas Toler all to resign.

The sheriff's office is also on the ballot after Eugene Crum was shot and killed while on the job last year.

According to the county clerk's office, there are about 18,000 registered voters in Mingo County. So far, more than 400 people have cast their ballots.

There are still three days of early voting left, plus Tuesday on Election Day.
