Sissonville Community Reacts to Loss of 'Buckwild' Star, Two Others

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. -- The name of the third person found dead in an SUV containing a "Buckwild" cast member's body has been released.

According to a release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, Shain Gandee, 21, David Gandee, 48 and Donald Myers, 27, all of Sissonville, were found dead inside of the 1984 Ford Bronco.

Shain was the cast member on MTV's reality show "Buckwild."

The SUV and bodies were found by one of Shain's friends, who was searching the trails and ridges in the area for the missing men.

According to the release, the vehicle was found upright, yet unevenly, and partially submerged in deep mud. The SUV was covered to the lower part of the passenger door in mud, but the driver's side was above the mud. The muffler of the vehicle was completely below the surface of the mud.

The area where the Bronco was found about 1 mile from Shain's home near Thaxton Hollow in Sissonville.

According to the release, Shain was in the driver's seat of the Bronco. All three bodies were removed and have been sent to the State Medical Examer's Office.

Investigators began searching for Shain and his Uncle David after family members reporting them missing. The two were last seen leaving Larry's Bar about 3 a.m.

Deputies said the two told people they were going four-wheeling in Shain's Ford Bronco.

They were missing for more than 30 hours before the Bronco and their bodies were discovered.

The cause of death is still not being released, and an autopsy will be performed.
