More Than 30 Animals rescued from Filth in ‘Hoarding Situation’

Nearly 30 cats and two dogs were rescued Tuesday in a hoarding situation at a home along Market Drive in Charleston, an employee with the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association said.

The cats were living in several inches of feces, and the home had no running water, according to a post on the organization's Facebook page.

Metro 911 dispatchers later confirmed the animals were rescued from the home.

It was unclear Tuesday night if charges had been filed.
