Thanksgiving Travel Down Along W.Va. Turnpike

The threat of severe weather is being blamed for a big drop in the number of travelers on the West Virginia Turnpike this Thanksgiving.

State Parkways Authority General Manager Greg Barr says traffic on the turnpike dropped 7.7 percent during the holiday travel period. That amounts to 57,000 fewer cars.

Barr says many people canceled their travel plans because of the threat of snow.
