Wayne High Parents Rally for Turf Football Field

Parents at Wayne High School say their field is in need of a serious overhaul.

The Wayne Pioneers made it the AA State championships earlier this year.

On Tuesday night, parents spoke with school board leaders about installing turf at Wayne High School's Pioneer Field. They say the field has become a mud pit.

While funding isn't currently available, all options are being explored by school leaders.

Wayne County voters will go to the polls in May to vote on a bond issue that would provide funding for new buildings.

For now, that plan does not include money for the football team.
