Disaster Unemployment Assistance Benefits In Logan County
{Charleston, West Virginia}...Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and WorkForce West Virginia Acting Executive Director Russell Fry announced Monday that federal disaster unemployment assistance benefits are available to Logan County residents or those working in Logan County that meet the qualifications, including self-employed workers not usually entitled to unemployment insurance. The Logan County area was declared a disaster area by President Barack Obama on March 22nd. The disaster aid is for those affected by severe storms that occurred beginning March 15th. All claims need to be filed by April 25th. Those applying need to provide proof of past earnings, such as business records or bank statements and their most recent income tax form, at the time they file their claim. Any WorkForce West Virginia One Stop Office can accept DUA claims, including the Logan office which serves the affected county.
