St. Albans Home Care Provider Indicted
{St. Albans, West Virginia}...Shida Jamie, 56, of Charleston, who operated a in-home health care business called Golden Heart In-Home Care LLC of St. Albans, has been indicted on charges of health care fraud, lying to investigators, falsifying records and engaging in illegal monetary transactions, defrauding Medicaid out of millions of dollars. The criminal indictment alleges Jamie failed to do proper background checks on employees and sent out in-home employees who were not properly trained and who had been convicted of federal charges. Federal authorities seized the assets of Jamie in 2010, including bank accounts and property on Parkwood Road and in the Quarry Creek subdivision. The new 18-count indictment directs the forfeiture of those properties and $2.5 million alleged to have been gained in improper billings. It also directs the forfeiture of a 2007 Mercedes Benz.
