Former Police Officer Charged With DUI
{Dunbar, West Virginia}...Former Montgomery Police Officer Matthew Leavitt was charged with misdemeanor DUI after Dunbar Police found Leavitt slumped over his wheel off of the I-64 exit ramp Saturday night. Police say the car was running and the transmission was in drive. Police say Leavitt admitted he had several" drinks that night and he was trying to make it home. In 2008, Leavitt was accused of beating Twan Reynolds during a traffic stop and unfairly charging his wife, Lauren Santella-Reynolds with drunk driving, while depriving the couple of their constitutional rights. In July of 2009, Leavitt pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor federal civil rights charges he committed under "The Color Of Law". He admitted to beating Reynolds with a slap jack and arresting Reynold's wife for drunk driving without reason.
