Grand Jury Indicts 52 on Drug Charges in Mingo County

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. -- A Mingo County Grand Jury has indicted 52 people on felony drug charges.

Prosecuting Attorney Michael Sparks says the sealed indictments are the part of “Operation Zero Tolerance.”

Sparks say the grand jury returned a total of 61 felony indictments earlier this week.

Those indicted are expected to be arraigned next week.

In a press release, Sparks credits Sheriff Eugene Crum and Drug Task Force Commander C. D. Rockel for their work in helping get the indictments.

“Our smart, fast and flexible approach has proven to be highly successful,” said Sparks.

Sparks also says “Operation Zero Tolerance” is ongoing with more felony drug indictments expected. The next grand jury convenes on February 20.
