WILLIAMSON, W.Va. --- The shelves are full in a small evidence room in the basement of the Mingo County Courthouse.
On those shelves are pills, cash, jewelry and guns -- all of it seized during a countywide drug raid last Friday.
"All of these are from out of state,"Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum said. "We're seeing a lot of doctor shopping in Tennessee and Georgia ."
Friday's sweep resulted in more than 50 indictments and more than $300,000 in cash and property confiscated.
The task force commander is Dave Rockel. He's also known to residents of Williamson , W.Va. , as the city's police chief. He says this sweep is just the beginning of a new, dedicated effort to get drugs off the street.
