Man arrested after allegedly duct taping his mom

A Charleston man is in custody after he allegedly duct tape his mother during a robbery attempt.

Police took Joshua Holbert, 32, into custody Wednesday morning and charged him with kidnapping and second degree robbery.

Holbert allegedly asked his mother to give him some money so he could pay off a drug debt but she refused. Holbert then allegedly pushed on down on a bed and later duct taped her to a chair in the bathroom.

Police say Holbert’s mother suffered some bruises from the tape. He’s being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
