Massive drug indictment roundup in Mingo County

Numerous arrests were made after a massive drug indictment roundup Friday in Mingo County.
Early Friday morning, the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department assembled members of Operation Zero Tolerance, and began rounding up more than 50 individuals on felony drug indictments.
Earlier in the week, a total of 52 people were indicted on felony drug charges.
Most of the charges dealt with selling and dealing crack cocaine, prescription drugs and heroin.
A local sign shop was raided during the roundup and a person authorities called a “major supplier of drugs” was arrested.
In all more than 40 officers were used to simultaneously hit several communities throughout Mingo County.
Most of those arrested were from Mingo County, but some were from Columbus, Indiana and Detroit.
Friday’s roundup was part of an ongoing investigation since August.
