Huntington City Council heard first reading of a proposal to buy a conveyor belt for the city's wastewater treatment plant. That belt will cost more than $30,000.
But Mayor Steve Williams says the larger problem of 100-year-old pipes and infrastructure could be a lot more costly to residents.
That could possibly include raising sewer rates to fund millions of dollars worth of work.
