{Huntington, West Virginia}...Don Blankenship, a 1972 graduate of Marshall University and former chief executive of Massey Energy Co., is committing $300,000 in scholarships to the school’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Blankenship made the three-year pledge in honor of his mother, Nancy Marie McCoy, who died in 1995. Ten second-year medical students who meet the financial and academic requirements of the scholarship each will receive $10,000 to help with the cost of tuition.
