U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said Tuesday that an undisclosed settlement has been reached with 62 year old Shida Jamie, the owner of Golden Heart In Home Care of St. Albans. Golden Heart provided in-home health care services to the elderly and disabled under a contract with Putnam Aging Inc., an authorized West Virginia Medicaid provider. Jamie pleaded guilty earlier this month to a federal conspiracy charge, admitting to altering and falsifying company records. She's accused of fraudulently obtaining more than $2 million from Medicaid. Jamie faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when sentenced January 16th.
