{Charleston, West Virginia}...Kanawha County Circuit Judge Charles E. King has sentenced 22 year old Franklin Davis to two to eight years in prison. Police say, in January, Davis went to the home of his girlfriend, Amy Smith, on Crescent Road, forced his way inside and beat her until she blacked out. Days earlier, Smith had filed a protective order against Davis. Davis spent several minutes pleading with Kanawha County Circuit Judge Charles E. King to reduce his prison time. King said he would consider a motion to reduce the sentence if Davis' lawyer files a motion.
