{Smithers, West Virginia}...Former Glasgow Police Officer Donald Scott Wills, 43, of Smithers, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery Tuesday. Smithers Police Chief Gerald Parker says Wills and another man went to a home on Michigan Avenue in Smithers around 9:30 P.M. Monday night, wearing State Police jackets and carrying fake badges and non-working handguns, and told the homeowners they needed to come inside to speak with them. Once inside, the two men ordered the homeowners to the ground, tied them up and began looking for drugs and cash. Police were notified of the commotion, but as Smithers officers arrived, the two men escaped on foot. Wills was fired from the Glasgow Police Department in April after allegedly buying drugs from a confidential informant who told sheriff's deputies that Wills bought drugs while in uniform and driving a Glasgow city police car. Deputies set up a sting operation at the informant's home, and Wills was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was indicted in September.
