Golden Heart Owner Pleads Guilty

Sixty-two year old Shida S. Jamie, the owner of Golden Heart In Home Care in St. Albans, has pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges accusing her of falsifying records and documents of Golden Heart in or around August or early September 2009. Jamie admitted to directing office staff to go through the personal files of caregivers and to falsify signatures on training documents to make it appear as if caregivers had received training in compliance with the personal care program guideline. Those files were then turned in to Putnam Aging so that Putnam Aging would allow the Medicaid program to be billed for personal care services provided by Golden Heart. Jamie faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when sentenced on January 16, 2013.
