Fatal Shooting Involves Deputies

{Pinch, West Virginia}…Kanawha County Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Quick Road in the Pinch area around 5:30 P.M. Saturday. Deputies say 49 year old Lawrence Edward "Pete" Vaughan was beating up his mother, Carol Vaughan, inside the home. When deputies arrived and were about to knock on the door, Vaughan opened the door and began firing at them with a pistol. Deputies took tactical positions and returned fire, instantly killing Vaughan. The Sheriff’s Department plans to release more information into the shooting on Monday.
