West Virginia Attorney Sentenced
West Virginia attorney 52 year old Charles B.
Mullins II, who practiced in Pineville, has been sentenced to 18 months in
federal prison for tax evasion and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of
$780,146. Mullins pleaded guilty in August, admitting that between 2006-2009,
he failed to pay more than $389,000 in taxes. Mullins also admitted that he
owes the state public defender program $223,605 and Alabama-based Daniels
Capital Corporation $184,030 for making false statements concerning the amount
of work he did on court-appointed criminal defense work. He also wrote checks for
his personal use directly from a client trust account.
