WV jobless rate increases

WorkForce West Virginia reports the state’s unemployment rate climbed two tenths of a percent in Dec. and is now at 7.5 percent.

The number of state residents entering the unemployment ranks rose by 11-hundred for the month. Jobs were lost in trade, transportation and utilities.

The national unemployment rate is at 7.8 percent.
