{Charleston , West Virginia }…The
case against 35 year old Jennifer Garretson has been sent to the Kanawha County St. Albans
when off-duty State Police Sgt. Aaron Nichols tried to stop her. While fleeing,
police say Garretson's vehicle struck Sgt. Aaron Nichols, seriously injuring
him and sending him to a hospital. Sgt. Nichols was in intensive care for a few
days but has been getting better. He’s moved to a regular room and his
breathing on his own. Testimony indicated Friday Garretson was
shoplifting to support a drug habit. The defense doesn't deny the
shoplifting but does deny Garretson intended to hurt the trooper.
