The Honorable Samuel J. Cann, Sr appointed to Senate

The Honorable Samuel J. Cann, Sr. has been chosen to represent the citizens of the 12th Senatorial District.
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin appointed Cann Wednesday to fill the vacancy left behind when Senator Joe Minard resigned to serve as the Clerk of the Senate.
Delegate Cann is the senior member of the Harrison County legislative delegation and has been serving in the House of Delegates since 1994.
While in the House, Cann has held a number of leadership roles including chair of the Committee on Small Business and Economic Development and co-chair of the Joint Committee on Economic Development.
The West Virginia University graduate has been a member of numerous community organizations including the Knights of Columbus and the West Virginia Special Olympics Board of Directors.
Cann currently resides in Harrison County and his appointment is effective immediately.
