Fire at Former Coke Plant in Ashland, Ky.

ASHLAND, Ky. --- Crews decided to let a fire at the former Coke Plant in Ashland to burn itself out.

The fire started about 3 p.m. Monday at the old plant in the 3800 block of Winchester Avenue.

Firefighters took extra precautions to get the fire under control. Crews from the Ashland, Westwood and England Hill Fire departments were at the scene.

There was no word on a cause.

The plant, owned by AK Steel, closed in 2011.
