Two in Custody after Video Lottery Parlor Robbed in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, W. Va. -- West Virginia State Police say a man dressed in a camouflage outfit robbed Texas Jim's video lottery parlor in Teays Valley just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

WVSP say the man held a female employee at gunpoint.

Troopers say he put a handgun to her back and made her unlock both the register and safe. The man also demanded that she open the machines, but the employee told him she couldn't.

The man threatened her when she attempted to press an alarm button in the parlor, according to State Police. He then forced her into the bathroom and left her there.

The got away in a minivan with another suspect. The vehicle was later located at the Wal-Mart in Nitro and both were taken into custody by Nitro Police.

State Police say another armed robbery was reported early Monday morning at Playmates in Jefferson. They say the suspect matched the same description.
