Drugs, Cash and Property Seized in Jackson County, W.Va.; Man Arrested

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. -- Drugs, cash and thousands of dollars in property were seized Tuesday in what started as an investigation into stolen guns, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies say.

Investigators were able to trace the recovered property to Hubert Messer and obtained a search warrant.

Messer was charged with transferring and receiving stolen property. Drug charges are pending.

Deputies said they found some pills and $36,000 cash. In addition, they seized a large amount of property including cars, horse trailers, ATVs and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
