{Beckley, West Virginia}...Sixty year old Eddie Ramsey, Sr. of Edmond, West Virginia died in a boating accident on the New River Gorge National River Saturday. Chief Ranger Jeff West says Ramsey and his son were ferrying camping gear across the New River in a small boat when the boat filled with water and capsized. The son made it to shore, and the family saw the father struggling. They went into the water and pulled him ashore, but he was unresponsive. A passerby and emergency services workers also were unable to revive him. Neither man was wearing a life jacket.
