Burning Ban Issued

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and First Lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin toured the state Friday surveying the damage from recent storms and monitoring the progress. As a result, Governor Tomblin issued a burning ban which became effective immediately and continues throughout the state of emergency. Tomblin says emergency personnel are stretched as it is with the recovery efforts so the state just needs to take extra precaution at this time. The West Virginia Division of Forestry and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will be in charge of determining the extent of the burning ban. For more information regarding the ban, visit the Division of Forestry's website at www.wvforestry.com or the Division of Natural Resources' website at www.wvdnr.gov.
