DHHR Taking Applications For School Clothing

{Charleston, West Virginia}...The Department of Health and Human Resources began taking applications for school clothing vouchers Sunday. Each eligible child will get $200 that may be used toward the purchase of school clothing or fabric and other materials for families who sew clothing for their children. Applications are due July 31st, and the vouchers must be used by October 31st. Families who get WV WORKS cash assistance will automatically get the vouchers around the middle of the month. Some recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are also eligible for automatic issuance. Families who got vouchers last year and receive either Medicaid or SNAP benefits now should already have received applications. To be eligible, the monthly income for a family of four cannot exceed $1,921.
