Bond Denied In Death Of Young Boy

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Ethan Chic-Colbert appeared in Kanawha County Circuit Court Thursday seeking to have his $100,000 bond lowered, but the motion was denied. Chic-Colbert has been charged with four counts of child neglect creating the risk of injury or death. Police say Chic-Colbert was beating Lynitrah Woodson as she drove along Interstate 77 on March 4th, and when Woodson pulled over, her son, 11 year old Jahlil Clements, tried to flag down help but was hit by a passing car. Clements died at an area hospital. In court Thursday, Assistant Prosecutor Dan Holstein told Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib that Chic-Colbert is a suspect in the 2010 murder of Beverly Simley, a former bartender at the Birdhouse Lounge, who was found shot to death in her car outside the bar. Simley had sworn a protective order against Chic-Colbert a few months before she was found dead. Chic-Colbert had previously been arrested for throwing a drink at Simley's daughter, who was pregnant with his child at the time. This was the first time any official had connected him to the murder.
