South Charleston Couple Pleads Guilty

  • {Charleston, West Virginia}...Darrell Emmett Spencer, 42, and his wife Leslie Yvonne Carter, 39, of South Charleston, each face up to 20 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine when sentenced August 13th after admitting they sold crack cocaine in Charleston. The couple admitted they sold crack to a confidential informant at the Charleston Town Center mall in August 2011. Carter told authorities she also had the informant meet her at Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Hospital in Kanawha City where she worked at a physician's office, and she made transactions on hospital property at least four times last August. Spencer told authorities he also sold crack to an informant at his home in South Charleston.
