West Virginia State Police Trooper Shot

{Elkins, West Virginia}...A manhunt began Thursday afternoon after a West Virginia State Police Trooper was shot at a home near Elkins High School about 4:00 P.M. William David Dumire, 55, was located just before 8:30 P.M. in a drain culvert near Kelly Mountain Lodge, off US Route 33, near Elkins. A shootout occurred, and Dunmire was killed. Corporal Andrew Loudin, of the Crimes Against Children Unit, remains in stable condition at a hospital in Morgantown. He is a ten year veteran of the West Virginia State Police. Sgt. Michael Baylous says Loudin was interviewing Dumire when the shooting happened.
