Man Charged With Financial Exploitation

{Dunbar, West Virginia}...Tommy Gibson Burger, 55, of Dunbar, was arrested Tuesday and charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person. He's accused of stealing more than $160,000 from his 88 year old mother, Hilda, to support his drug habit. An Ameriprise Financial account maintained for Hilda Burger's care held $166,085 in December 2007. Officers say Burger misused about $81,175 of his mother's money from 2007 to July 2011. After that, he allegedly coerced his mother into giving him her Power of Attorney then depleted the remaining funds in the account.
