Memorial Set For Mountaintop Mining Activist

{Charleston, West Virginia}...The Keepers of the Mountains Foundation will hold a public memorial service for late mountaintop removal mining activist Larry Gibson at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on October 14th. Gibson died of a heart attack September 9th at his home on Kayford Mountain in Raleigh County at the age of 66. Gibson, who started the foundation in 2004, became one of the best known opponents of mountaintop mining.
