Police Investigating Armed Robbery
{Charleston, West Virginia}...Charleston Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Thursday morning at an ATM on Virginia Street East. Police say a 65 year old man was trying to get money out of the ATM when two black men approached his car, wearing dark colored hoodies and had black masks covering their face. One robber, armed with a handgun, demanded the victim's ATM card and personal identification number, but, when the robbers could not get money out of the ATM, they drove the victim to another bank on the West Side. They could not get money out of that ATM either, so they forced the victim into the back of the car and beat him in the face. The men then dropped the victim off on the side of the road and drove off in his car. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital with lacerations around his left eye, head, and ears.
