Plea Hearing Set For West Virginia Hitchhiker

{Billings, Montana}...District Court Judge John McKeon in Montana cancelled a preliminary hearing set for next week in the case of 39 year old Ray Dolin of Julian, West Virginia, and an October 29th change of plea hearing in the case was set. Dolin pleaded not guilty last month to charges of tampering with evidence, making a false report and obstructing a peace officer after he falsely claimed to be the victim of a drive-by shooting while hitchhiking near Glasgow, Montana on June 9th. Authorities say he shot himself in the arm to gain publicity for a planned photographic memoir about kindness. Lloyd Christopher Danielson III of Tumwater, Washington was jailed in the shooting before Dolin confessed.
