{Charleston, West Virginia}...Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among West Virginians ages 15-24. It's the third-leading cause of death for that age group nationwide. The death of Harrison County high school junior Ashley McIntyre, who killed herself since the school year began, adds a sense of urgency as Governor Earl Ray Tomblin marks Suicide Prevention Week on Monday. Tomblin plans to issue a proclamation at the state Capitol and then travel to an Eastern Panhandle high school to talk to students about this crisis. Tomblin is also speaking out against bullying. Experts say both bullies and their victims are at a higher risk for suicide.
