Five Allegedly Held At Gunpoint

  • {Morrisvale, West Virginia}...Boone County Sheriff's Deputies say 61 year old Barry Wayne Clark of Morrisvale held five people hostage at gunpoint for three hours then burned a home on Rattlesnake Hollow Road. The incident started at about 9:00 P.M. Monday night when Clark's estranged wife and some friends returned to her home and found Clark waiting inside with a knife and a gun. When deputies arrived, they found Clark's estranged wife, who had been beaten, hiding at a neighbor's house. The other's who had been held hostage were hiding in the woods. Clark, who was charged with five counts of kidnapping and one count each of first-degree sexual assault, malicious wounding and arson, was out of jail on four separate bonds for incidents including domestic assault, posession with intent to deliver marijuana, violation of domestic violence petitions and other charges.
