SWAT Team Members Justified

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Kanawha County Prosecutor Mark Plants says SWAT team members were "justified" when they fatally shot 33 year old Omar R. Cowan during a November 2nd standoff at  Amandaville Court in St. Albans. Plants says evidence shows Cowan approached the officers in tight quarters with two knives. Deputies say Cowan was inside the apartment threatening to hurt his wife and their four small children and was allegedly wielding a box cutter before he barricaded himself inside his bedroom and refused to communicate with a deputy, who then called the SWAT team as backup. Deputies spent about two hours trying to establish communication with Cowan before the SWAT team broke down the apartment's front door and confronted Cowan.
