Woman Sentenced To Life With Mercy

{Winfield, West Virginia}...Tracy Wright of Hurricane was sentenced to life with mercy Thursday morning for the death of her daughter and 3-15 years for child neglect, to be served concurrently. She received credit for 342 days already served. In October 2011, Wright was convicted in the death of her 3 year old daughter, Ashley, who died in December 2010 of complications from cystic fibrosis. The prosecution argued that Wright failed to take her daughter to doctor appointments and give her prescribed medications. After a three-day trial, the jury took two hours before returning a guilty verdict. Wright will be eligible for parole in 2027.
