Huntington Man Convicted In Pennsylvania

  • {Hempfield, Pennsylvania}...Thirty-five year old Lamont Laprade of Huntington, West Virginia was convicted in Pennsylvania Friday of four counts of bank robbery, armed robbery, conspiracy and using a firearm. The FBI and state police say Laprade was the getaway driver for David Mathis of Crafton in the robbery of the Westmoreland County Federal Credit Union on January 8, 2010, during which Mathis fired a shot that traveled through a computer and hit a teller in the chest. Agents say Mathis also hit another teller in the head with his gun. He is serving 25 years in federal prison. Laprade faces a mandatory 10 years in prison and could get more when sentenced May 9th. Laprade is a convicted felon and not allowed to have a gun.
