{West Virginia}...Verda Peters, 33, of Laredo, Texas and formerly of Charleston, pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to providing a false statement to the Social Security Administration, admitting she received Children’s Insurance Benefits in May 2008 on behalf of a minor child who had been removed from her home. From 2008 to 2010, Peters received $17,492 in government benefits she was not entitled to receive. Peters faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when sentenced January 30, 2012. She agreed to pay full restitution.
