Preliminaries Waived In Murder Case

Police say 26 year old James Roy Belknap of Leviasy killed Steven Hendrix, his girlfriend Amber Martin, and Hendrix's two children, 6 year old Dakota and 4 year old Kaylee, over a drug debt. All of their bodies were stripped and thrown over a hillside on Belknap's property. Belknap was scheduled to appear before Nicholas County Magistrate John Morton Monday morning, but he waived his preliminary hearing. There was also a preliminary hearing scheduled for Mark Haynes. Haynes was driving the vehicle Belknap was in when police arrested him on May 28th as he attempted to go through a checkpoint near the town of Carl. Haynes is charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact. Haynes also waived his preliminary hearing.
