First-Degree Murder Trial Delayed

  • {Charleston, West Virginia}...Kenneth Eugene Carter, 51, of Charleston was scheduled to go on trial Monday for the first-degree murder   of 51 year old Ronald Forton of Charleston who was found dead in his apartment on Beuring Avenue in July. Kanawha Circuit Judge James Stucky agreed to postpone the trial until March 12th at the request of Carter's defense attorney. Forton and Carter were roommates. Police say a fight erupted between them and a third man, Bradie Dunlap, and that Carter beat the two others with a baseball bat. While Dunlap was being treated at a local hospital, he alerted authorities about Forton and he was found dead shortly after.
