Charleston Couple Sentenced

{Charleston, West Virginia}...A South Charleston couple has been sentenced for distributing crack cocaine. Forty-two year old Darrell Emmett Spencer was sentenced to 10 years in prison. His wife, 39 year old Leslie Yvonne Carter, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison. Both pleaded guilty to drug charges in May. The pair told authorities that, on August 18, 2011, they sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant with the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team. Carter also admitted to selling crack cocaine to an informant on six other occasions in August 2011 and to selling drugs while on Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial's property in Kanawha City. Carter was employed at a physician’s office at CAMC at the time the drug transactions occurred.
