Woman Arraigned On Embezzlement Charge

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Heather Laake was arraigned Wednesday in Kanawha County after being charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from a credit union and financial exploitation of the elderly. Prosecutors say, while Laake worked at the South Charleston Employees Federal Credit Union, she stole money from customers accounts and changed their account information so they wouldn't notice the money was missing. Her boyfriend at the time, Dewayne Spaulding, who is also facing the same charges, failed to appear in court, so the judge issued a capias for his arrest. Laake's trial is set for October 22nd.
