{Charleston, West Virginia}...West Virginia State Police Trooper 26 year old Eric Michael Workman died Friday at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital in Charleston. Police say Cpl. Marshall Lee Bailey and Workman pulled over Luke Baber Tuesday, August 28th, at the Wallback park and ride off Interstate 79. Bailey and Workman arrested Baber and put him in the back seat of their cruiser. While waiting on a tow truck, Baber, who was handcuffed in the front, took a hidden handgun and shot both troopers. Workman joined the West Virginia State Police on January 10, 2011. He was assigned to the Grantsville Detachment upon graduating from the West Virginia State Police Academy and had been recently transferred to the Clay Detachment. Bailey died at the scene.
