Craig Hite of Mingo County pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder and malicious assault. Judge Michael Thornsburg sentenced Hite to 40 years on the second degree murder charge and 2 to10 years on the malicious assault charge, to be served consecutively. Police say, in 2011, he stabbed his stepmother, Charla Hite, to death at a home in Varney. He also stabbed his former step-sister, Laura Muncy, and his father, Homer Hite.
