{Charleston, West Virginia}...A man accused in a credit union embezzling scheme was arraigned Thursday in Kanawha County. Dewayne Spaulding has been charged with bank embezzlement, credit union fraud and financial exploitation of the elderly. His then girlfriend, Heather Laake, who was arraigned on the same charges Wednesday, is accused of embezzling more than $100,000 from the South Charleston Employees Federal Credit Union. Prosecutors say she wrote the checks to Spaulding. The pair is set to go to trial October 22nd.
